Friendless Walk

Yesterday was a quiet Sunday- the air calm, cold and grey. With the change to daylight savings time, my morning walk with Jack was empty of friends- both human and canine. Usually each morning, we cross paths with all sorts of walkers. Families on their way to school or church, people running for the bus and of course, dogs with their humans. But not yesterday. This morning, we met the basset hound with the knitter and someone new with an old chocolate lab who was surprised that he wanted to go so far. But, I've found that that's what dogs do- continue to want to go as long as they have a chance to.

It has just started to snow- tiny flakes through the sunlight. Doesn't it know that it's March?
